Women would love the guys to act more ethically, but honestly, it's not really our job and we're tired. As I said, your point about what makes them back off is interesting and possibly a revelation for many women, but we have a lot to do taking care of ourselves with these guys anyway.
I also think some men would be shocked into reflection if they hear that they're putting an imaginary man ahead of a women in the interaction. I sure as hell would be embarrassed to think I'd done that, and as I said before, even if the "boyfriend" allows them to save face, he's still what makes the guy back off.
I think your piece could serve men very well, but if women are reading this, I urge them not to take on any more of the work of educating men, unless they're their own toddlers.
