When we say “believe the women” it does not also mean “and find the men guilty”. What it asks for is a move away from the default that she must be lying or at least, have an ulterior motive. It would be a huge improvement if we could treat rape and sexual assault like we treat other serious crimes — and that is, to put the alleged perpetrator on the stand instead of the alleged victim.
