We can make this even more effective by standing up to microaggressions too. Fewer people (ie. men) see how damaging they can be but to quote Laura Bates in her Ted Talk on #everydaysexism -

“The same ideas and attitudes about women that underlie those more “minor” incidents of sexism and harassment, that we’re often told to brush off and not make a fuss about, are the same ideas and attitudes about women that underlie the more serious incidents of assault and rape.”
