I believe this last sentence is key. It's too easy for people to say that there's no longer a patriarchy, and yet when presented with the facts (everything from sexual violence to the gender pay gap), it's undeniable.

At present, the unwillingness of some to admit its continuing existence is expressed as insults and violence towards women, but we need to keep speaking out about what the patriarchy looks like in real life.
