To be honest, I wasn’t thrilled with Bernie as a women’s rights advocate. No, to my knowledge, he hasn’t been accused of inappropriate behavior to individual women, but he has dismissed women publicly — his shushing hand gestures at a black women’s caucus (while on the stage), and his excuse that he “was a little bit busy running around the country” when asked about women staffers who said they were paid less and experienced sexual harassment. Oh and the claim that “women’s issues were a distraction. ”
And in 2016, saying “It’s not good enough for someone to say, ‘I’m a woman! Vote for me!’ “ — as if women say that, and as if we all don’t know that the standards for women are far higher.
Not good. At all.
But I said all along, that if Sanders was the 2020 candidate, I’d vote for him. Biden wasn’t my first, second, or third choice either, but Trump isn’t going away unless we vote someone else into the WH. That’s one thing no one can deny. What’s the alternative?
And please- “When I say that I will not vote for Biden, people typically respond that I will then be responsible for another 4 years of the Donald. But this is simply more of the same sort of bullying that got us into the Trump presidency in the first place.” — That is not bullying. What got Trump elected was the around 50% of people who couldn’t be arsed to get out and vote last time.
