That would be true IF women's safety and right to justice were equal at the moment, but a quick look at (for example) the sad case of rape allegations proves that women's lives are not equally valued.

As I say in the piece, since we are still in a patriarchal society, we can safely assume that that patriarchy doesn't value us as equals in almost every area.

When we have that equality, I'm sure more of us would be happy to pitch in elsewhere.
