I've written a whole book giving women and girls the words and phrases to stand up to sexism - but - the first step has to be that we change our own mindsets.

And this is THE ONLY thing we change when we're talking about sexism, abuse, rape, murder. You're right, we shouldn't be tasked with changing anything else and the less we do accommodate the BS, the more the culture will change (albeit still probably at a glacial pace).

We are not responsible for sexism in any form, and although we shouldn't be responsible for teaching this to men and boys., there will be some of that anyway when we stand ujpto all the BS.

Yes, it's exhausting. Yes, it's annoying. But we really have no choide.

So let's put ourselves first for once.

When we're told to 'think about his job', 'get a sense of humour' or 'stop making something out of nothing' - ignore that and listen to your gut. You knows it's wrong, you know you're being disrespected - and F*** it, you have a right to call it out.
