It starts early. A 2021 UK review on peer-on-peer sexual harassment in schools found that while many girls had experienced sexual harassment, a lot didn't report because nothing would be done about it or because they didn't want to get the guy in trouble.

We're taught not only that "boys will be boys" but that we have to put up with it and put the guys first.

It continues in the workplace when we're told to "think of his career/reputation/family" - when he should have been the one doing all that.
