In your academic and professional capacity, you probably didn't have the same opportunities as him either. On paper and in law, yes, but the reality is (and study after study bears this out) that women still have to be better than their male counter-parts to get the job, get the promotion, get their ideas heard etc etc. It's even more difficult if you're not a white women.

If you're the victim of a crime, especially rape, you're likely to experience less speedy justice, and more victim-blaming. When you visit a doctor (either male or female) you might not be taken as seriously, especially if your symptoms don't present in the typical male way.

The list goes on.
