I'm going to keep using Micro because I tihnk it perfectly describes what's happening. Although the impact on the target is huge, the actual deed is often so small that others around don't see it, or don't appreciate its impact.

And that's how it's designed. Many people employing microaggressions deliberately, choose to say or do something that is so seemingly insignificant, it makes the target look petty if they say something.
