I'm a dual citizen and moved back to the UK in 2017 after 27 years of living in the US.
That was when Trump was President. TRUMP! Remember him???
The USA became a laughing stock years before the UK did.
I'm not defending anything that's happening in the UK, but it's all already happened in the US. Yes, the NHS is squeezed beyond imagination, but - two of my close family members have recently had emergency treatment, several surgeries and between 10 and 35 days in hospital - at no cost. For every horror story you hear, you'll hear the counter balance and NO ONE goes bankrupt.
The idea that if the US isn't careful it'll end up like the UK is beyond laughable. EVerything we see happening in the UK (attempts to circumvent constitutional law, corruption in the government, entranched politicians, rubbing shoulders with Russians) was taken straight from the Steve Bannon playbook. YOu even list many of them yourself.
I watched it happen here after seeing it all in the US a few years prior.
