I (sitting in the UK) don't disagree with your finer points but the idea that "Britain Doesn't Understand How Much Trouble It's In" couldn't be further from the truth.
There's a reason the Tory party have been cobbling together a cabinet and why they kicked Liz Truss out before things could get any worse - the country is sick to the back teeth of them and baying for a General Election.
Which they know they would lose.
The Brixit referendum was almost 50-50 and since then, most people have been negatively impacted by either the direct consequences or the failure to close the deal. Some pundits say that if another referendum were held (on the basis that Boris Johnson's lies brought the votes), the result might be reversed.
