I always think it’s hilarious when someone on social media mentions my age as a means to diminish me, usually when they can’t come up with anything remotely intelligent. There is no shame in growing older; we’ll all get there in the end, so trying to make someone feel ‘less than’ by pointing out the obvious, is both ridiculous and pathetic.
That’s not to say I wouldn’t like the waistline I once had, but that’s more to do with comfort that conforming to anyone else’s standards.
