Here’s my go-to answer, which sadly, needs to be deployed about a gazillion times a day —
If men can’t help themselves, why aren’t more women raped and more men raping? Simple — because only rapists rape. Similarly, when people ask what she was wearing, where she was walking, how much did she have to drink — and then imply that it’s no wonder she was raped, I call BS. If any of those factors were relevant, again, most men who saw her would attempt to rape her. But they don’t. Because only rapists rape. There is no contributory element to rape, and there is no primal pull in men.
