As I said in the piece, it's not what they are doing or how they are performing. I don't believe in so-called male & female traits and organisations lose out heavily when they train and appraise employees based on them.
You're not a pick-me girl because you're a gamer, just as you're not a pick-me woman because you work in a warehouse or anywhere else that's heavily male dominated.
It's the use of put-downs and degrading comments that are typically used by men against women, to remind them of their place and to assert the speaker's supposed superiority. Women who do this are aligning themselves with men and against their fellow women at work.
