As a parent who's been through this, it breaks my heart to read of any child going through it (or her parent).

The idea that a) bright kids can't have LDs, and b) extra time is somehow cheating, makes me want to scream.

These kids are protected under the Americans with Disabilites Act, and the school has a duty to them. The idea that any educator would not see that processing is a HUGE issue for many kids, is awful.
