Ah, nice bit of DARVO here - specifically the RVO (Reverse the Victim and Offender).
In everything I write (including my book) I stress personal safety as a primary consideration. No one is 'demanding' (boy, you do love the dramatic turn of phrase don't you?) anything. As someone who stepped in to rescue a friend, got her nose broken by a 6'4" guy and has had two subsequent surgeries, i know only too well what can happen, but there is a certain irony that men like yourself cite personal safety when women are beaten black an blue by guys every single day.
There are many situations where men could very easily stop a guy from harassing a woman, so there's no need to stamp your feet about the extreme situations. But I guess thanks are in order from the women you encounter; you've made it perfectly plain that they're on their own should they ever be in trouble.
